The Supreme Court of The United States holds more power than any other entity in the world. To learn more information about The Supreme Court, we watched a video in my First Year Seminar; this video can be found at the following link.

The video basically tells you everything that you need to know about The Supreme Court. Eight justices and one Chief Justice make up the judges of the Supreme Court in Washington, DC. The judges of The Supreme Court are lawyers and/or former judges that have been appointed by the President of the United States and approved by the senate.
One might wonder what types of cases are handled at the Supreme Court. Basically, if a case is tried at a lower level court, a person feels as if their constitutional rights are being neglected, or even issues involving the President's power, the justices at the SC are asked to take action. The issues of the appeals are discussed in private and are not meant for the public until a final decision is made and released. The Supreme Court of the United States has served as a model for other courts around the world.
