It is no secret that every news channel/anchor, news paper, TV broadcaster and magazine in America has a different story these days. With that being said, how do you know who you can and cannot rely on for correct, unbiased information? How do you choose the news channel that you watch at home, or which newspaper you look at on the weekends? Regardless of whether we like to admit it or not, much of the values and habits instilled in our daily lives are there due to the way we were raised and the habits of our family.
Because I was raised in a conservative, Republican household I have always and will always watch Fox News. My family and I have always believed that the information that comes from Fox News shows such as Fox and Friends, Tucker Carlson, The Five or even Megyn Kelly before she started working for NBC, is often reliable and truthful without much spin on it. I also find that the live streams of Press Conferences from the Press Secretary are often the most reliable because the facts and answers are coming directly from the white house.
I often try to stay clear of magazines and website/Facebook posts as informative sources simply because it is so easy for anybody to post anything on the internet or in a magazine; it is important to always be weary of the information you read and how truthful it is. I have even gotten first hand information about our State directly from The North Carolina General Assembly where I have been in the house and senate chamber for a number occasions; I was actually present in the chamber for Governor Roy Cooper's 2017 State of the State address. Last but not least, when researching for information online always pay attention to what type of website the information is posted on. Websites that are posted by government or federal agencies are often reliable sources.I have attached some photos of me with representatives Charles Graham and Garland Pierce of North Carolina and Senator Tom McInnis of North Carolina.
